One word for you...AMAZING! This time, John came to Philly on his tour...and he wasn't just playing to a crowd of people coming and going throughout the weekend , but to a packed stadium of 10,500 of his own fans. Funny what a few months can do..huh? We had a blast... singing... dancing... becoming deaf from the teenyboppers screaming "We love you John" and "We wanna have your babies" at the top of their lungs. Even though that was annoying, it didn't stop me from having the time of my life! All of the songs were amazing and I honestly cannot wait to see him perform again!!!! Here's the road journal entry from johnmayer.com about the show:

MOTOWNPHILLY, PA
We like Philadelphia. Lots of music, lots of culture. Kind of like Manhattan, but it feels a little more real. In a perfect example, my cab driver told me he edited Will Smith's Summertime single.
Stellar night tonight. Tied with Chicago for our biggest show this month, the Phillies didn't let us down. Not too fast, and not too slow. Liberty Bells and CheeseSteaks in hand, you people came with three 14 inch rims running on the side (riding on the side?).

dela's shirt drive was a huge success tonight. You special individuals saw the many changes of shirts and may have even caught some barenaked dela. Using this strategy, our man on the bass was able snag the sticker contest tonight, selling a huge number of stickers. Seems it was his night.
Speaking of knights, sir John sported a hat tonight from our friends in Toilet. There were some other unique parts to the show - 3x5 is evolving more and more into a climactic movement of sorts. Your Body is a Wonderland ended with some crowd participation and no fade out. 83 included talk of brother Carl, some foreshadowing for what was to come. Redundancy, what? That's right, Carl Mayer (MC CM) on sleigh bells tonight. The best part was the dropping mic stand - its slow decline combined with the method of playing the bells erupted in ... an eruption.
Now, get back to your family. You're home, and you don't need to be online. It's Thanksgiving, and you should either be eating tryptophan or falling asleep to the sounds... of parades.
Thursday is coming
Why would I want to eat you
I used to draw you

Thank you John, the band, and the crew for an amazing show! Come back to Philly soon, but please don't play at the Liacouras Center on the day where everyone and their mothers...yes their mothers, are traveling! People driving on Broad St. are insane! People running red lights, yelling at us to move when there's no where to move but the sidewalk, everyone beeping at each other so you don't know who's beeping at who...PLEASE don't make us go through that experience again!!!! ;)
