Baltimore
Written by Caitlin.

I just went to John’s concert in Baltimore on November 26th. I absolutely loved it! Anyone who likes him and hasn’t seen him live should definitely go see him. He opened with Bigger Than My Body. It’s a good song and I liked it, but its not my favorite live. Clarity followed, and that is great, on CD and live. My Stupid Mouth came next. Covered In Rain is one of my favorites. No Such Thing fit perfectly. Split Screen Sadness was nice to hear; it’s a cool song. I liked Why Georgia when the crowd sings the beginning of the 3rd verse (so what so I’ve got a smile on, its hiding the quiet superstitions in my head…). Back To You had a good little intro. Only Heart was next. Come Back to Bed had a Stevie Ray Vaughn worthy solo. Your Body is a Wonderland is my least favorite, there were so many screaming girls in there, you couldn’t here yourself at all (not to say I wasn’t one of them). Neon is just an awesome song. Wheel’s powerful lyrics closed out the set. He began the encore with Daughters. I didn’t hear all of the song, because I had to get something. St. Patrick’s Day was next, hearing it live gave me a new appreciation for the song. 83 was the perfect closer. As a trumpet player, it was great to see the horn have a solo and the saxophonist/flutist play. Overall, this was a great show. I haven’t talked to anyone who went that didn’t like it. My dad even said he thought it was one of his favorites, second only to Stevie Ray Vaughn. If you haven’t been already, get out there to a show!
